Caracalla conducted an eastern war in 216-217 and captured the kings of Osrhone and Armenian and the army advanced far the the east, crossing the Tigrus river. This prompted this victory type which coincided with his 20th year (TRP XX). He advanced toward Edessa to meet the Parthian army, but he was assassinated at Carrhae by a conspiricy lead by Macrinus, who issued VICTORIA PARTHICA types.
