Gallienus, 253-268. 22 mm. 3.57 grams.
GALLIENVS AVG, his radiate head left
SAECVLARHS AVG [sic], stag right, palm branch in exergue.
RIC 656 except head left and H for E in the reverse legend. ("H" is a Greek eta which has the sound of a Latin E, so it was an easy mistake for a Greek-speaking engraver to make) minted at Antioch. Cunetio 1912 for the reverse spelling but with draped and curiassed bust right from issue III, the last issue, second part, so it must be from c. 268.
RSC 922 (which does have this obverse).
The type and legend remind us of animals from saecular games, but I do not know the reason for games c. 268.
