Tiberius, AD 14-37.
18 mm. Denarius. 3.60 grams.
TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, laureate head right
MAXIM PONTIF, figure (Livia?) seated right holding staff and branch.

Sear I 1763. RIC 26 "undated, 14-37"
Carson, Principate, 362, calls the reverse "Livia as Pax."

This type is known as "The tribute penny" and is in high demand because of that biblical connection. Hoards and site finds show this type was very rare in the Holy Land so many scholars think this is not the actual tribute penny of the Bible and propose other silver types of Augustus as more likely.

This reverse was also issued by Augustus, but is far rarer for him.
