Antoninus Pius, 138-161. as. 26 mm. 11.09 grams.
BRITANNIA COS III, Britannia seated left on rocks, shield behind.

RIC 934. Sear II 4296.

Antoninus Pius built a wall across Britain north of Hadrian's wall. It was of turf and soon abandoned. Some remains still exist, but they are far less impressive than the stone remains of Hadrian's wall. This type is found almost exclusively in Britain. We deduce it was either minted in Britain or virtually the entire output was shipped to Britain.
