Trajan, 98-117.
IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TRP COS VI PP, his bust right, slight drapery on far shoulder.
ABAB ADQ in exergue, SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI. Arabia personfied holding branch and bundle of cinnamon sticks, camel (or ostrich?) at feet left.
In 106 Trajan annexed the Nabatean Kingdom which had its capitol at Petra. The coin has Arabia "acquired," not "conquered" or "defeated" because, although the military was prepared to conquer it, there was little in the way of resistance--not enough to assume the title ARABICVS.
