The main page is intended to be a concise illustrated guide to the AE coin types of the Roman emperors, including an indication of rarity. The individual type-pages give more precise indications of rarity by listing the RIC rarities of the emperors and types by mint, by noting the appearances of photographs in the major references, and by illustrating the coins in the Esty collection.

In many cases the reader will be able to extract the "RIC number" from the pages, but, if a single type has more than one RIC number from a given mint, the distinguishing mint marks are not given. This site is not intended to provide all the information in the major refences, rather to outline the types available to collectors.
