Jacquier, Paul-Francis
Ancient coin fixed price lists -- their contents
(This list is incomplete.)
Cardcover catalogs on quality paper. Illustrations are on the same page
as their
descriptions. About 3/4 the lots are illustrated and 1/4 are not.
My
coin-count is of the lots, not the images.
The coins are of moderately low value,
in the sense that many could
sell under $100 and relatively few above $500.
Jacquier is particularly strong in coins of Gallic Celtic AE, Roman Trier, the
Gallo-Roman emperors, and barbarous imitations. Catalogs usually
have good selections of late antoniniani, tetrarchal folles, and
Constantinian coins. If it has Byzantine, most are AE. Most of the
Greek coins are AE, not of high value.
In the counts below, "Oriental Greek" refers to
coins of Persis, Parthian, Sasanian, Baktrian, and Indo-Greek. "Roman
Egypt" refers to coins of Alexandria.
"G" = Greek and usually includes many AE.
If RP = Roman Provincial is not listed separately,
there are probably a few within the Roman Imperial count.
